About Me

Phong Le was born and raised in Orange County California.  His undergraduate degree is from Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland.  There he studied Mathematics with a minor in Music.  In his spare time he still plays classical guitar and enjoys the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra.  His obtained his master's degree and Ph.D. from University of California, Irvine.  There he studied Number Theory under Daqing Wan.  While at UCI he earned several honors including awards for excellence in research and teaching. 


Currently Phong is continuing his work in Newton polygons that he began at UCI.  He is also has begun investigating connections into algebraic coding theory.
